Practitioners of Arab socialism include Saddam Hussein, Bashar al-Assad, Gamal Abdel Nasser, and Muammar Gaddafi, among others. Arab socialists believe in Arab Unity (or Pan-Arabism). Unlike some other socialist ideologies, Arab socialism rejects internationalism and communism. Arab socialists believe in wealth redistribution, and the nationalization of some key industries, but do not typically want to abolish private property.
