GenZedong is a socialist online community on the US-based social media website Reddit. It is dominated by a Marxist-Leninist tendency, and supports AES states both in their scientific development of socialism, as well as their opposition to the imperialist global order. After Reddit quarantined GenZedong, the community is split between the original Reddit community and its counterpart in Lemmygrad as of May 2022. GenZedong also has a Matrix room and a Telegram group.[1]
Censorship
In March 2022, GenZedong was quarantined by Reddit.[2] Subsequent moderator disagreements lead users to mutiny and join the Lemmygrad GenZedong community. Around this same time, the GenZedong Discord server was censored by Discord admins for "spreading misinformation", i.e. challenging the bourgeois media narrative. Some GenZedong Discord users went to Matrix, but most currently engage in Telegram.
