Aaron Good is an author and historian from the United States of America. He is the author of American Exception: Empire and the Deep State, and host of the related American Exception podcast. He has also been featured on Benjamin Norton's Geopolitical Economy Report in the "US Empire and the Deep State" series to discuss the themes of his work.

His book American Exception: Empire and the Deep State traces the evolution of the U.S. state, with a focus on the "massive national security state characterized by unprecedented levels of secrecy and lawlessness" which administers the U.S. empire. The book uses the term deep state to describe institutions that "involve the relationships between the overworld of the corporate rich, the underworld of organized crime, and the national security actors that mediate between them" and covers historical information about the "toppling of foreign governments, the launching of aggressive wars, and the political assassinations of the 1960s."[1]
