This reminds of a famous quote from a Brazilian Marxist-Leninist, Luís Carlos Prestes:

“The mistake of the [...] intellectual is that they idealize a "socialism", a socialism taken out of their head. And since this socialism does not coincide with real socialism, they then fight real socialism. Actually existing socialism came from a capitalist country, and you cannot change society overnight.
