German Sign Language (German: Deutsche Gebärdensprache (DGS)) is the sign language used by the Deaf community in Germany, Luxembourg, and parts of Belgium. It differs from Austrian Sign Language (used in Austria) and Swiss-German Sign Language (used in Switzerland and Liechtenstein), both of which are considered to be part of the French Sign Language family.
