Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel y Bermúdez (born 20 April 1960) is a Cuban former engineer and Marxist–Leninist politician who has served as the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba since 2021, and as president of Cuba since 2019. Díaz-Canel took over the positions previously held by Raúl Castro, upon his retirement. He is the first man born after the 1959 revolution to become president.

Important moments from his presidency include the Statesian-backed and NED-backed 2021 Cuban colour revolution attempt and the passage of the 2022 Family Code, which guarantees some of the most progressive LGBTQIA+ protections in the world, as well as redefining the definition of "family".
