2024 Teamsters Amazon Strike

From ProleWiki, the proletarian encyclopedia

On December 19, 2024, the Teamsters began the largest strike against Amazon in U.S. history after Amazon refused to recognize their union. Workers were striking at facilities DAX5, DAX8, and DFX4 in southern California, DBK4 in New York City, DCK6 in San Francisco, DGT8 in Atlanta, and DIL7 in Skokie, Illinois. Amazon claimed that the striking workers were not Amazon employees because it organizes drivers under Delivery Service Partners, a third-party business controlled by Amazon.[1] It ended on 24. December 2024[2]

Police repression[edit | edit source]

The NYPD attacked the DBK4 facility in Queens, arresting a driver who tried to stop his delivery van. After hours of fighting, they broke the picket line.[1]
