Albert Arnold Gore Jr. (born March 31, 1948) is a Statesian politician and businessman who served as vice president of the United States from 1993 to 2001 under President Bill Clinton. He previously represented Tennessee in the House of Representatives from 1977 to 1985, and then as a senator from 1985 to 1993. Gore was the Democratic nominee in the 2000 presidential election, which he lost to George W. Bush despite winning the popular vote.
Gore is best known for his climate activism and advocates for a reformed capitalism to address environmental problems with market solutions. He believes that capitalism is the perfect system and has used his sustainable capitalism to enrich himself and become a multimillionaire. Gore is a strong supporter of imperialism, failing to recognise its association with climate issues, and supported the U.S. bombing of Yugoslavia, invasion of Somalia, and sanctions against Iraq, though he did oppose the Iraq War.[1][2]
