Anatoly Ivanovich Lukyanov (7 May 1930 – 9 January 2019) was a Soviet politician who served as Chairman of the Supreme Soviet from March 1990 to September 1991. He opposed Gorbachev and sympathized with the 1991 coup attempt. After the coup failed, he was arrested and held in jail until December 1992. After the counterrevolution, he served as a member of the Russian State Duma and Presidium of the Central Committee of the CPRF.[1]
