The Australian Communist Party (ACP) is a Marxist–Leninist party in Australia which split from the modern Communist Party of Australia in 2019, citing "unresolved issues regarding the Party’s work [...] combined with lax recruitment practices and general ill-discipline". The organisation presents itself as the true inheritor of the legacy of the original Communist Party of Australia which was founded in 1920, with its "Our History" page detailing the history of the CPA.[1]

China[edit | edit source]
The ACP recognises the People's Republic of China as a capitalist country, arguing that "the vast majority of economic activity takes place under capitalist relations of production" and that land is "de-facto treated as private property which is bought, sold, rented and traded on markets like any other commodity." It "questions" China's exporting of capital, which Lenin regarded as a core tenet of imperialism once it has "acquired pronounced importance",[2] though it stops short of outright labelling China as "imperialist".[3]
Though critical of the "shortcomings" of the Communist Party of China, the ACP nonetheless "support[s] China’s national independence in the face of US imperialism and steadfastly oppose[s] all attempts to provoke war in the region."[3]
Israel–Palestine[edit | edit source]
On Instagram, the organisation shared a statement by the Palestinian Communist Party which commemorated the Nakba and denounced "Israel" as a fascist settler colonial state.[4]
Papua conflict[edit | edit source]
The ACP supports the Free Papua Movement, which it regards as an anti-colonial national liberation struggle.[5]
United States[edit | edit source]
The Party denounces Statesian imperialism.[3]
