In Marxism, centrism was an opportunistic current, represented by thinkers such as Karl Kautsky and the Austro-Marxists, which advocated for a non-existent "middle ground" between reformism and revolution. Stalin described centrism as the "subordination of the interests of the proletariat to the interests of the petty bourgeoisie within one common party."[1]
