Ebla was a Bronze Age kingdom located in modern-day Syria. It became a major state by around 2400 BCE.[1]
Written records[edit | edit source]
An Italian expedition in 1975 uncovered the city of Ebla and discovered thousands of cuneiform tablets. Most of the texts were economic and administrative records. There were also dictionaries and literary, legal, historical, and religious texts.[1]
