Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky (11 September 1877 – 20 July 1926) was a Bolshevik revolutionary. After the October Revolution, from 1917 until his death in 1926, he was appointed to lead the Cheka and its successor organizations to stop counterrevolutionary activity.[1]
