Jordan, officially the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, is a country in West Asia bordered by Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria, Palestine, and the illegal "State of Israel". Jordan is a comprador state and despite the wishes of its people, the Jordanian government is a willing ally to imperialism and Zionism, receiving $1.45 billion a year in direct aid from the United States. Despite an estimated 40-70% of Jordan's population being Palestinian, its government does little to aid the Palestinian cause and contrarily it often remains passive or even supportive to the Zionist regime.[1]
History
Independence
In 1948 after the failure of the UN proposal to divide Palestine, Hashemite forces moved into the West Bank and occupied it, annexing the territory in 1950. In 1967 the Zionist Entity reconquered the territories in the Six Day War along with Egyptian and Syrian territories, which further exacerbated the Palestinian refugee crisis by forcing them to flee from the Arab occupied territories.[1]
