The "Israel" Defense Forces (IDF), also known as the "Israel" Occupation Forces (IOF), is a settler-colonial terrorist organization. Along with its predecessor, the Haganah, it is responsible for the ongoing colonization and genocide of Palestinians. Military service is mandatory in the Zionist Entity, and people who refuse to join the IOF may spend months in prison.[1] The IOF's current Chief of Staff is Herzi Halevi.[2]
War crimes[edit | edit source]
In 2008, the IOF killed close to 1,500 unarmed civilians in Gaza during Operation Cast Lead. During an assault on Gaza in 2019, the IOF killed more than twenty people, including several children.[2]
Over 30084 Palestinians have been martyred – including 10000 children, 7000 women, 326 medical staff and 112 journalists – by the IOF since the launch of Operation Flood of Al-Aqsa.[3] After the IDF withdrew from Gaza on April 7, 2024,[4] almost 400 bodies were discovered in mass graves at Nasser hospital. Many of these bodies had signs of torture, some Palestinian civilians had been buried alive, and others executed.[5]
