The Indian People's Party, known as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Hindi, is a reactionary nationalist party in India that ruled from the 1990s to 2004 and again from 2014 to the present day. It targeted Muslims and communists while allowing foreign corporations to take over India's economy.[1] Current prime minister Narendra Modi is a member of the party.[2]
