Jackson Hinkle (born October 15, 1999) is a Statesian YouTuber and political commentator who identifies as a patriotic socialist and "MAGA Communist." He has appeared regularly on right-wing outlets such as Fox News and One America News, and has been platformed by Tucker Carlson and Alex Jones. He has debated Vaush, Destiny, Adam Something, and Sam Seder.

In July 2024, Hinkle co-founded the American Communist Party (ACP), a formation that blends a tailist rhetoric of Marxism with social conservatism, anti-trans bigotry, and Trump-style imperialist nationalism. Hinkle has often distorted communist theory for personal gain, serving his own brand (social media profiles, etc.) over the American Communist Party that he co-founded.

Distortion of Marxist Theory

Hinkle frequently distorts Marxist theory to fit his nationalist agenda. He claims Mao Zedong encouraged people in Japan and the United States to be patriotic, when in fact Mao condemned the patriotism of Imperial Japan and Nazi Germany as reactionary and called on communists in those countries to work for their own nations' defeat in the war.

Hinkle has also claimed that communists do not support the abolition of private property and that Marxism has always been conservative. He argues that the goal of Communists is more capitalist enterprises.

Hinkle has engaged in slavery apologia. In a 2023 social media post, he argued that the transatlantic slave trade was not uniquely blameworthy because slaves were purchased from African traders. From a Marxist perspective, this argument ignores how European colonialism transformed and militarized pre-existing African slave systems into chattel slavery — a mode of production that drove primitive accumulation and the development of capitalism itself. Slavery was not a morally neutral transaction; it was the violent foundation of capitalist wealth.

Despite such a poor, chauvinistic understanding of Marxism, Hinkle still considers himself a Marxist-Leninist, further alienating the term and positions of communists from the broader public by making the association unpalatable.

"MAGA Communism" and the American Communist Party

Hinkle's stated platform includes banning "antifa street terrorism," ending "woke academia," deporting the Obamas and Clintons, opposing transgender rights, and subsidizing gym memberships. This is essentially "culture war" nonsense and not a coherent platform that marxists would organize for, only appealing to right-wingers.

Economist Richard Wolff described MAGA Communism as a "contradiction in terms," comparing it to the Nazi strategy of co-opting socialist language to seize power in 1930s Germany. VICE News reported that Hinkle's content aims to "become viral by creating edgy, contradictory content rather than building any coherent political movement."

In July 2024, Hinkle co-founded the American Communist Party (ACP). The party was immediately condemned by established Marxist organizations and parties. MLToday described it as an "abomination" born of "eclecticism and opportunism" that offers no revolutionary option for US workers. The party's plenary committee consisted of ten men, and its "social conservative" line — including anti-trans positions and hostility to feminism — places it squarely outside the Marxist tradition of liberation politics.

Refuted ties to China

As a media personality, Hinkle often posts pictures of himself with figures known within anti-imperialist circles. Part of his media presence is to amplify his ties to the People's Republic of China, which has the effect of alienating new communists from wanting to learn about China's system and its place within modern-day socialism as a dictatorship of the proletariat and anti-imperialist state, as they start associating the People's Republic with the social conservatism and crypto-fascist rhetoric of the MAGA Communists.

For example, in August 2024 Hinkle briefly opened a Weibo and Bilibili accounts and promoted them on his social media, posting a doctored photo of himself walking alongside Xi Jinping with the caption "#1 American on Chinese social media" but was swiftly banned from the platforms no later than four months later, and his profiles completely emptied.

Likewise, Hinkle once appeared on a Shanghai-based TV station, Guancha, which is a private network owned by a venture capitalist in China's most free-market city. However, Hinkle failed to mention the station's status and freely let people infer that he had appeared on State TV, i.e. that the Communist Party of China had personally invited him. He did so by downplaying the independence of the media in China and never correcting people who misunderstood his appearance on the station. Conversely, state-owned media The Paper called him a "spreader of false information" when he made the false claim on social media that an IOF sniper had been killed by the Al-Qassam brigades.

Disinformation About Gaza

After the Operation Flood of Al-Aqsa in 2023, Hinkle grew his following on X from roughly 417,000 to 2.6 million in months. The New York Times reported that much of this growth was fueled by networks of inauthentic accounts amplifying his content. Hinkle repeatedly shared old footage from Syria as Gaza hospital bombings, fabricated Haaretz articles (a labor-zionist publication in the entity), and doctored imagery. Haaretz directly called him out for attributing a fake "investigation" to their newspaper.

Critics have accused Hinkle of profiting from Palestinian suffering. His company, Fake News Media LLC, reportedly earned substantial revenue posting graphic images of dead children while making no donations to Palestinian causes. He sold "Zionist Tears" merchandise and posted AI-generated self-portraits of himself in combat gear — behavior widely mocked as performative grifting rather than genuine solidarity, as he never participated in mutual aid for Palestinian fundraisers. At a pro-Palestine event at Emory University co-hosted by CAIR, Hinkle and his collaborator Haz were jeered off stage after attacking Palestinian solidarity activists. CAIR issued a statement condemning the disruption, saying they had "unwittingly damaged the movement for Palestinian liberation." In response, Hinkle and Haz took to social media to insult the organizers of the event, calling them slurs.

Hinkle has also been known to plagiarize social media posts made by others, posting them under his own account without attribution. In this way, during the Gaza genocide, he has silenced Palestinian and other anti-zionist accounts by refusing to credit them for their work and seizing their content for himself. He has never once even posted or promoted a Gaza fundraiser, using the attention on the genocide for his own clout.

Ties to the Far Right

Despite claiming to be a communist, Hinkle has repeatedly allied with white nationalists. He streamed on Nick Fuentes' platform Cozy.tv, attended dinner with Fuentes (a white nationalist and Holocaust denier), and collaborated on content. He spoke at the same "Rage Against the War Machine" rally in Washington D.C. as Matthew Heimbach, an organizer of the "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville. He has appeared on Alex Jones' InfoWars and has been platformed multiple times by Tucker Carlson.

More recently, the heads of the ACP, including Hinkle, have started promoting rapist and sex trafficker Andrew Tate to their impressionable audience, thereby considering him a more important figure aligned with their movement over the likes of Karl Marx or Vladimir Lenin. He called the legal case against Tate for human trafficking "fake" and falsely claimed it had been "dismissed".
