Julien-Victor Lahaut (6 September 1884 – 18 August 1950) was a Belgian communist politician who served as chairman of the Communist Party of Belgium from 1945 to 1950. Due to his opposition to the monarchy and the bourgeoisie he was assassinated by anti-communist forces and the Belgian government protected the perpetrators until their natural deaths.[1]
