Karina Garcia is a PSL Central Committee member running for Vice President in 2024 as part of Claudia De la Cruz's presidential campaign.[1]

Early life

Garcia's father immigrated to the USA from Mexico when he was 16. She studied at Columbia University with a full scholarship and graduated with a degree in economics.[2]

Political activism

In 2006, Garcia led a campaign to shut down the Minuteman Project, an anti-immigrant militia. After becoming a teacher in New York City, she advised a student group that protested against budget cuts, the Iraq War, police brutality, and anti-immigrant laws. In 2012, she became a national organizer for the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice.[2]
