The liberal international order (LIO), referred to as the rules-based international order (RBIO) in Western media, refers to the domination of the world by Western imperialist powers. Since the Second World War, the USA has been the world's dominant imperial power.[1]

Contradictions

Capitalism vs. socialism

In 2013, China overtook the USA in terms of GDP PPP without using colonialism, slavery, or war as the Atlantic powers did and ended 500 years of Western dominance.[1]

Imperialist bourgeoisie vs. national bourgeoisie

The bourgeoisie of non-Western countries such as India, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey is breaking away from the West.[1]

Imperialist bourgeoisie vs. Southern working classes

The proletariat, peasantry, and lower petty bourgeoisie of the Global South are increasing their opposition to the West. For example, people in Burkina Faso and Mali are driving the French military out of their countries, and Colombia elected its first anti-US president.[1]

Finance capital vs. working classes

As the rate of profit falls, the bourgeoisie turns to fictitious capital and speculation. As of 2022, derivatives are worth $18.3 trillion in market value but $632 trillion in notional value, more than five times the world's GDP.[1]

National bourgeoisie vs. Southern working classes

Many countries in the Global South are ruled by pro-Western compradors and have extreme wealth inequality.[1]

Imperialism vs. independent states

The USA has been targeting socialist states as well as capitalist countries that are not under its control. It is seeking to balkanize Russia and destroy its nuclear weapons.[1]

Imperialist bourgeoisie vs. Western working class

The bourgeoisie of the imperial core is resorting to white supremacy in order to distract the workers from rebelling against them.[1]

Capitalism vs. the environment

Capitalism is preventing humanity as a whole from reclaiming Earth's natural resources and encourages the destructive U.S. nuclear weapons program.[1]
