Michael George Glen Waltz (born January 31, 1974) is a Statesian politician and diplomat who has served as United States ambassador to the United Nations since September 2025. He previously served as Donald Trump's national security advisor from January to May 2025 and as the U.S. representative for Florida's 6th congressional district from 2019 to 2025.
Waltz is a staunch imperialist and supports the genocide against Gaza and second Cold War against China.[1] He was removed from his position as national security advisor after inadvertently inviting journalist Jeffrey Goldberg to a Signal group chat in which secret details of strikes on Yemen were shared. The scandal presented an opportunity for the isolationist faction of the government to remove a interventionist and Waltz was then moved to the position of ambassador to the UN.[2]
