Nabûnāṣir (died 734 BCE) was the king of Babylon from 747 to 734 BCE. In 744 BCE, he asked King Tukultīapilešarra III of Assyria to help him fight the Chaldean tribes occupying the outer regions of Babylonia. The Assyrians subjugated the Chaldeans, and Nabûnāṣir recognized Assyrian sovereignty over Babylonia while remaining in power as a vassal.[1]
