Every year, on either New Year's Eve or New Years Day, the president of the People's Republic of China makes an address to China and to the world.

  • Coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region
  • The development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt
  • The construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area
  • Launched the Chang’e-4 lunar probe
  • Second aircraft carrier set sail on its maiden voyage
  • Domestically-made large amphibious aircraft performed its first water launch
  • BeiDou Satellite Navigation System launched
  • Reduced the price of 17 cancer-fighting drugs[1]

The accomplishments made throughout 2019 that he listed were:

  • Coordinated development in the following regions:

  • Ecological protection in the Yellow River basin
  • Lifting 340 impoverished counties and more than 10 million people out of poverty

  • Xuelong 2 icebreaker's maiden voyage to the Antarctic
  • BeiDou Navigation Satellite System close to finishing (geospacial satellite system equivalent to GPS and SatNav)
  • 5G technology

  • Fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, and finishing the year with the strongest GDP growth in the world
  • Completing the 13th Five Year Plan and formulating the 14th Five Year Plan
  • Tianwen-1 (Mars mission)
  • Chang'e 5 (Lunar probe)
  • Fendouzhe (deep-sea manned submersible)
  • Construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port
  • Minimizing damage of severe flooding
  • Establishing a Moderately Prosperous Society in all respects
  • Decisive success in eradicating extreme poverty[3]
