Peter Brian Hegseth (born June 6, 1980) is a Statesian politician and war criminal who has served as the 29th U.S. secretary of defense since 2025. He was previously a U.S. Army Captain and worked for Fox News from 2014 to 2024, co-hosting Fox & Friends Weekend from 2017 to 2024.
He is openly racist and Islamophobic and glorifies the Crusades.[1] Hegseth has consistently campaigned against soldiers being held to account for war crimes and as secretary of defense he would go on to commit his own. Military career[edit | edit source]
Hegseth was a platoon leader at the Guantánamo Bay concentration camp and promoted torture against prisoners. In 2019, he encouraged Trump to pardon three U.S. soldiers who murdered Iraqi civilians, which Trump did.[1]
