The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) is an anti-imperialist organization based in Iraq and a member of the informal Axis of Resistance. It originated from the resistance to the 2003 U.S. invasion and became a multi-ethnic and multi-religious coalition of groups fighting against ISIS in the 2010s while USA-backed forces retreated in the face of ISIS. In 2020, the USA murdered Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, a leader of the PMF-affiliated Kata'ib Hezbollah.[1]
