Sirhan Bishara Sirhan (born 19 March 1944) is a Palestinian refugee who was framed for the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy in 1968.[1]
Early life[edit | edit source]
Zionist bombers destroyed Sirhan's childhood home in East Jerusalem. His older brother was killed when a Jordanian military vehicle swerved to escape Zionist gunfire.[1]
RFK assassination[edit | edit source]
Sirhan visited the Ambassador Hotel on June 3, 1968, and went to a gun range the next day.[1]
In the Ambassador Hotel shortly after midnight on the morning of June 5, someone shot Kennedy at point blank from behind while Sirhan was standing one or two meters in front of Kennedy. Bystanders tackled Sirhan, and he shot all eight bullets in his gun, with five of them wounding bystanders.[1]
Trial and imprisonment[edit | edit source]
Sirhan's lawyer, Grant Cooper, was also the lawyer for the mafia boss John Roselli, who tried to assassinate Fidel Castro for the CIA.[1]
During Sirhan's parole hearing in 2016, former Kennedy advisor Paul Schrade testified that Sirhan was not the real assassin.[1]
