South Sudan, officially the Republic of South Sudan, is a landlocked country in East Africa bordered by Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Central African Republic.
History[edit | edit source]
The USA supported South Sudan's secession from Sudan in order to exploit the region's oil resources. The secession caused a civil war.[1]
