Tīridāt I Aršak (died c. 88), also known by the Greek name Tiridates, was an Armenian king from the Parthian Aršak (Arsacid) dynasty. A faction of the nobility allied with Parthia against Rome and installed him as king around 52. However, he was forced to make concessions to the Romans and travelled to Rome in 66 to be crowned by Nero. Roman craftsmen renovated the Armenian capital of Artashat and temporarily renamed it Neronia.[1]
