Theodor Herzl (2 May 1860 – 3 July 1904) was an Austro-Hungarian Jewish political activist who is regarded as the founding father of modern political Zionism. Herzl formed the World Zionist Organization and promoted the conquest of Palestine and Jewish immigration to it. Herzl was indifferent to Judaism, propagated antisemitic myths for his own purposes, and intended to solve the problem of antisemitism by creating a liberal democracy for the Jewish people without any Jewishness.[1]
