Tukultīninurta I (died c. 1207 BCE) was an Assyrian king. Under his rule, Assyria became the most powerful state in Western Asia. He conquered Babylon and put it under the control of his governors. He brought the statue of Amarutu, the supreme Babylonian god, to Aššūr.[1]
