The Union of October 17, also known as the Octobrist Party, was a monarchist party that formed during the 1905 Russian revolution. It was similar to the Black Hundreds but less extreme because it supported the October Manifesto which allowed for a representative Duma with limited power. It supported the Tsar's foreign imperialism and domestic suppression of workers.[1]
