The Zimbabwe African National Union - Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF), is a self-declared revolutionary socialist party which aims to create the conditions for Zimbabwean economic independence and a socialist society.[1] ZANU-PF's creation is the result of the merger between the Zimbabwe African National Union and Zimbabwe African People's Union, both of which were major revolutionary parties who liberated Zimbabwe during the Second Chimurenga.[2]
