Nations such as the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic, the German Democratic Republic, the People's Socialist Republic of Albania, and many others, have been able to almost totally remove private ownership of the means of production within a small amount of decades. The People's Republic of China has not done any of this, Deng and his successors turned the majority of the Chinese economy into private, often Western hands.
