The term was used by the [[Libyan Arab Jamahiriya (1977–2011)|Libyan]] daily newspaper ''Al-Zahf Al-Akhdar'' in response to U.S. president [[George W. Bush]]'s claim that [[Iran]], [[Iraq]] and [[Democratic People's Republic of Korea|People's Korea]] formed an "[[axis of evil]]."
