The '''Congress Party for the Independence of Madagascar''' ([[French language|French]]: ''Parti du Congrès de l'indépendence de Madagascar''; [[Malagasy language|Malagasy]]: ''Antoko'ny Kongresi'ny Fahaleovantenan'i Madagasikara'', AKFM) is a [[communist party]] in [[Republic of Madagascar|Madagascar]] founded on 8 November 1958. The organization that took part in the founding of this party was a group called the UPM, which was created by a man named [[Francis Sautron]]. The founding president of the AKFM was [[Richard Andriamanjato]], who was a [[Merina people|Merina]] [[Protestantism|Protestant]] priest with links to the [[French Communist Party]].
