== Early life ==
Guaidó moved from Venezuela to [[District of Columbia|Washington, D.C.]] in 2007, where he studied under a former [[International Monetary Fund|IMF]] director at George Washington University. After returning to Venezuela, he founded the right-wing [[Popular Will]] party.<ref name=":0" />

== Coup attempts ==
In 2014, Guaidó organized student-led riots that killed 43 people. He killed civilians by stretching steel wire across roads. He organized more riots in 2017 that killed 126 people, including many [[Chavismo|Chavistas]]. He went back to the United States in 2018 to organize protests against Nicolás Maduro.<ref name=":0" />
