On June 17, 2018, the Democratic Center party candidate Ivan Duque won the second round of the Colombian presidential election with 53.97 percent of the vote at the time of 99.76 percent of the total votes counted. The Humane Colombia candidate Gustavo Petro placed second with 41.81 percent of the vote.
