== Political career ==
Kennedy opposed the [[Central Intelligence Agency|CIA]]-installed monarchy in [[Imperial State of Iran (1925–1979)|Iran]] and refused to visit Iran on a trip around the world. His father, John F. == Assassination ==
[[Sirhan Sirhan]], a 24-year old [[State of Palestine|Palestinian]] living in [[Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan|Jordan]], allegedly assassinated RFK while acting alone. As a child, Sirhan was traumatized by the [[State of Israel|Zionist occupation]] that destroyed his home in al-Quds. Sirhan was angry at RFK for sending 50 bombers to Israel.

RFK's children, [[Robert F. Kennedy Jr.]] and [[Kathleen Townsend]], as well as [[Paul Schrade]], one of RFK's closest advisors, believed Sirhan was innocent. Sirhan's defense lawyer, Grant Cooper, worked for [[Johnny Rosselli]], who ran the CIA's anti-[[Fidel Castro|Castro]] program. In addition, Sirhan's gun only had eight bullets even though ten bullets were fired.

According to RFK Jr., the real assassin was [[Thane Eugene Cesar]], who worked for [[Lockheed Martin Corporation|Lockheed]]. Cesar called the Kennedys, "the biggest bunch of crooks that ever walked the earth".<ref name=":0" />
