Adding the influence of Malthus' thinking

New editor here, not too sure how to proceed with the format or content. It's known that Malthus for example had some influence on Charles Darwin, here is a relevant excerpt from The Autobiography of Charles Darwin (1887), from the Open Road Integrated Media publication in 2020:

"In October 1838, that is, fifteen months after I had begun my systematic enquiry, I happened to read for amusement Malthus on Population, and being well prepared to appreciate the struggle for existence which everywhere goes on from long-continued observation of the habits of animals and plants, it at once struck me that under these circumstances favourable variations would tend to be preserved, and unfavourable ones to be destroyed. The result of this would be the formation of new species. Here, then, I had at last got a theory by which to work; but I was so anxious to avoid prejudice, that I determined not for some time to write even the briefest sketch of it. In June 1842 I first allowed myself the satisfaction of writing a very brief abstract of my theory in pencil in 35 pages; and this was enlarged during the summer of 1844 into one of 230 pages, which I had fairly copied out and still possess."

There are other's who were influenced as well, I'd have to find the source, but there was an interview with Bill Gates where he mentioned prior to engaging in philanthropy he was of the belief which Thomas Malthus had. He then mentioned he was corrected by an expert (I believe, again, would have to find the source) and that giving women access to contraceptives, expansion of rights, and improved access to medical care of people in destitute regions would be a more effective strategy in increasing quality of life and subsequently reducing the birth rate.

Oh, I suppose I'd like to connect Malthusian Thinking with Social Darwinism which perhaps had even more proponents. An example of the top of my head is in a short book The Duel by Anton Chekhov, one of the 'intellectuals' is an adherent and espouses social darwinist rhetoric.
