Chauvinism is the practice of discriminatory superiority against a group, usually against certain groups of peoples. It often stems from reactionaries who attempt to blame every single contradiction of capitalism on those groups in order to further divide the proletariat. It rises as material conditions decline or as a result of a crisis when the Bourgeoisie attempt to foster class peace to divert the Proletariat away from class struggle.
