This reading list is recommended for individuals who are new to the Palestinian resistance and seek more context to gain a deeper understanding of the events leading up to Operation Flood of Al-Aqsa. Additionally, it serves those who already possess some familiarity with the Palestinian struggle against Israel's ethnic cleansing but wish to delve deeper into Zionism and the broader resistance against Zionism from the wider Middle East

Disclaimer:This list is not necessarily Marxist analysis except for the Essay and this list wasn’t recommended by a Marxist. We recommend this here because it will give you a well rounded understanding of Israel and Palestine. Take whats good in these books and leave what isn’t great analysis. If your newer to Marxism and your not comfortable with making your own dialectical analysis yet then just stay with the essay until you have the experience you need. Perhaps start with our Absolute beginner reading list first to gain the beginnings of that analysis. If you do decide to continue reading I'd suggest with these books to take the emotional aspects with a grain of salt and focus on the mechanics they describe. And as always, balance it out with other sources and information on current events.

Book Why it was picked
Zionism is antisemitism, and Palestine by CriticalResist This essay provides a concise yet comprehensive introduction to the themes explored in more detail in the subsequent books. It is a great primer on how Zionism is an antisemitic, colonial, and ethnonationalist ideology, and it covers the basics of Hamas, the historical context of Zionism, the involvement of various ethnic groups in Israel's formation, and the displacement of Palestinians. It serves as a solid foundation for the topics discussed in the books that follow.
The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine by Ilan Pappe This is an essential read if you're just starting to explore the history of Israel and Palestinian resistance. Whether you're new to the subject or have fragments of knowledge, this book offers a comprehensive exploration of Israel’s origins, shedding light on what it was truly founded upon.
The Invention of the Jewish People by Shlomo Sand This is a valuable read if you wish to gain a broader perspective on the connection between Judaism and Israel. It takes a deep dive into the beliefs that form the very bedrock of Israel's identity.
100 Years of War on Palestine by Rashid Khalidi This book provides two important additions to this list. A Palestinian perspective and a deeper look at the history of Zionism when Zionists were first eyeing Palestine. Palestinian author Rashid Khalidi draws on stories passed down through his family from generation to generation, and his own experiences, as an activist in various circles and as someone who has been involved in negotiations among Palestinian groups and with Israelis.
Hezbollah: A Short History by Augustus Norton The resistance to Israel extends beyond Palestine, encompassing the greater Middle East. Through the authors examination of Hezbollah's development and evolution, this book offers a broader perspective, granting newcomers to Middle Eastern Politics valuable insights into the influential group's regional impact and its role in the resistance to Zionism.
Israel Lobby & US Foreign Policy by John Mearshiemer While we've explored several facets of this complex puzzle, there's one critical piece that remains: the role of the United States in this narrative. If you've ever questioned the unwavering support extended by the U.S., and, by extension NATO countries, to Israel despite its historical and ongoing atrocities, this book provides the answers you seek. You'll gain a comprehensive understanding of how the Israel lobby significantly molds U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East, resulting in far-reaching consequences that extend to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, and beyond.
