The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is a government body of the United States of America responsible for combating the trafficking and distribution of illicit drugs, both within it's boarders and abroad.
Criticism
The DEA is largely responsible for enforcing the United States' War on drugs and thusly the many racist arrests and murders thereof. Furthermore, It's drug classification system of drug schedules severely restricts the research that can be done on them, even if they have already been determined to be of medical merit. The DEA has also been criticized for focusing on the operations from which it can seize the most money, namely cross boarder marijuana trafficking.
