Red tourism is a tourism trend in which people visit locations with historical significance to communism. It includes both patriotic education through reviewing history and leisurely sightseeing.[1]

The trend has become very popular in China, with 88 percent of tourists in 2022 reporting to have visited at least one red tourist site.[1]
