Granma is the official newspaper of the Communist Party of Cuba. It was founded on October 3rd, 1965 and the weekly publication has been available online since August of 1996. The daily publication became available online since August of 1997. Granma International publishes articles in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, and German. The news is also printed in Argentina, Canada, and Brazil.[1]

Granma was created by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba. It was created by the joining of the newspaper Hoy and of the newspaper Revolución. Hoy was the newspaper of the People’s Socialist Party and Revolución was the newspaper of the July 26th Movement. [1]
