The Pizza Index refers to the sudden increase of pizza orders from government offices, particularly the Pentagon and the White House in the United States, before large events.
An example of this occurrence can be found on the night of August 1 1990, before the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, which the Central Intelligence Agency ordered a record-breaking 21 pizzas from that night.[1]
