The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (د افغانستان اسلامي جمهوریت), also known as Afghanistan (افغانستان), is a country in Central Asia. It is the successor state to the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan, after it was defeated by the United States of America. The US invasion began a year after the founding of the DRA, and the subsequent wars continue to this day.
