Cultural revisionism is the betrayal of cultural authenticity through a falsification of history or some other form of arbitrary inventing. The comprador bourgeoisie can be seen doing this in order to make their culture more sellable to tourists and other outsiders. It is also engaged in by fascists and other reactionaries in order to stoke chauvinist sentiments that align with the bourgeoisie's goals.
