Brian Robert Thompson (July 10, 1974 – December 4, 2024) was the CEO of UnitedHealthcare from April 2021 until his assassination in December 2024. In 2023, he collected over $10 million from the company's $32.4 billion in profit.[1]
Assassination
Thompson was assassinated in Manhattan on December 4, 2024. Bullet casings at the site of the assassination had the words "delay" and "deny," likely referencing the practices of the for-profit healthcare industry. The alleged shooter has been identified as Luigi Mangione.[1]
