The Che Guevara Commune is a commune named after the Marxist–Leninist revolutionary Ernesto "Che" Guevara. Located in rural Venezuela, the commune was started in 2004 and was part of former President Hugo Chavez's goal of using communes as “the basic cells of [creating] socialism.”[1] The commune has been described as a “socialist holdout”.[1]

In November 2022, the commune flooded after heavy rains, leaving families homeless and farms destroyed.[2]
