The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, commonly referred to as Northern Cyprus and as The pseudo-state by Greek and Greek Cypriot media, is a country recognized only by Turkey in north Cyprus.
History
Invasion of Cyprus
After Greece tried to annex Cyprus in 1974, Turkey invaded the island and occupied the northern portion. Then, in 1975, the Turkish Federated State of Cyprus got established and after that, in 1983, it got succeeded by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which is claimed by the Republic of Cyprus.[1]
